WHICH COUNTRIES DO YOU SHIP TO?

We ship to most countries all around the world. Be aware of freight charge, custom fee, and import tax of faux fur fabric. These can be very high due to its bulkiness and similarity to real fur. It may even be more expensive than the fabric itself when it comes to small quantity.

WHAT’S THE MINIMUM ORDER AMOUNT?

The official minimum order is 500 meters. We can do small-scale orders like 10 yards with surcharge.

HOW TO CARE FOR FAKE FUR?

It is easy to care for your fake fur. Spot clean with cold water and mild soap. For a thorough cleaning, dry-clean, Pile Method. This means that solvent is used sparingly so fibers remain light and fluffy. Fake fur can also be machine-washed (delicate cycle) in cold water or maximum 30℃-40℃, flat dried or air dried. Fake fur CANNOT be exposed to any kind of heat: hot clothes dryer, hot iron, hot water or radiator. This will melt the fake fur, since its basically plastic. The ground fabric of fake fur is made of acrylic fiber which produces static and absorbs dust. Though special storage is unessential, it is recommended to keep fake fur coat dust-free in taffeta coat bag instead of plastic.

HOW TO DISTINGUISH NATURAL FUR AND FAKE FUR?

Pull a hair and then emblaze it. Natural hair burnt to ashes with the same flavor as human hair burnt, while artificial hair melt down with same flavor as plastic burnt.Poke the hair to look up the joint of hair and skin. If every hair follicle has 3-4 hairs scattered equably on it, it is natural fur. If there is distinct warp and weft or it looks like fabric base, it is fake fur. Draw the skin forcibly, natural fur is difficult to do with, but the fake fur is easy to do with. Test fur against light. Natural fur has long and hard guard hair, rather thick and hard bristle and soft down, the lengths of all sorts of hair are different, the whole fur has different color, hair length, hair density and handle, and the fake fur are uniform has uniform hairs and coarse skin.

DOES FAKE FUR SHED?

A little shedding is to be expected with fake fur. Any shedding is likely to be residual and diminishes after a garment is worn a few times. We suggest brushing your fake fur from time to time to keep it looking it is best and expel excess fibers. Normally our fabric reach grade 3-4 in shedding test.

IS FAKE FUR AS WARM AS REAL FUR?

The R-value, how heat retention is measured, of fake fur and animal fur is actually almost the same. Individual fibers trap body heat, whether they are fabric fibers or an animal skin. The warmest coat is long for maximum coverage and has dense, longhair fibers.

WHAT IS THE CHARACTERISTICS OF FAKE FUR?

It is also called Synthetic or Imitation Fur or Pile Fabric. The insulative property of pile fabrics is based upon the principle of air spaces entrapped between fibres. But the fibres, which are usually acrylic, modacrylic, or a combination of them, are held in place by being knitted into a base material. The resultant high-pile material is converted into imitation fur fabric by special processing.

HOW DO I CUT FAKE FUR?

When cutting fake fur, try not to get the 'shaved' effect. This can easily be done. Remember to cut only the backing, not the fur pile! To do this, simply slip scissors under the backing and began to cut. If your scissors jams, that means your not cutting correctly and cutting the fake fur. The best way to cut fake fur is with a razor blade. Its much more easier than scissors and can give you nice, clean affects. When cutting fake fur, simply use enough pressure on the blade to cut the fake fur backing. Be sure not to press too hard or you'll shave the fake fur. Here is a helpful tutorial on how to cut fake fur with scissors.
Make sure your fake fur is running the right direction before you cut. Its wise to mark the backing with a arrow going down when you find the direction of the fake fur.

HOW DO I SEW FAKE FUR?

Its quite simple. If you want to sew two pieces of fake fur together, tuck the fake fur fibers in and sew. If fake fur gets stuck in the seams, you can comb them out with a Slicker Brush, comb or hook them out with a sewing needle.
Remember, when sewing fake fur you have to have a seam allowance.

HOW DO I WASH FAKE FUR?

There is numerous ways on washing fake fur. You can spot clean with water and fabric cleaner, and allow to air dry. Or, you can throw it in the washer in a GENTLE setting. When drying, NEVER EVER use heat. This will melt the fake fur, since its basically plastic. The safest method is to allow it to air dry. If you must use the dry cleaner, do not use heat as a setting, just allow it to tumble.

WHY SHOULD I CHOOSE FAKE FUR OVER REAL FUR?

Fake fur is ethical and cruelty-free.
Fake fur is a fabric, therefore it is relatively easy to sew with.
Fake fur does not require or encourage the breeding of animals in factory farms like real fur.
Fake fur does not require cold storage to prevent deterioration and is impervious to moths.

Fake furs are made with a variety of materials. The bulk fibers are typically composed of polymers, including acrylics, modacrylics, or appropriate blends of these polymers. Acrylic polymers are made from chemicals derived from coal, air, water, petroleum, and limestone. They are the result of a chemical reaction of an acrylonitrile monomer under conditions of elevated pressure and heat. For fake furs, secondary monomers are also added to improve the ability of the acrylic fibers to absorb dyes. Modacrylic polymers are copolymers made by the reaction of acrylonitrile and vinyl chloride monomers. These fibers are particularly useful for fake furs because they can be easily dyed with animal-like colors and have a natural fire retardance.Modacrylic and acrylic polymers have other characteristics that make them useful in fake fur manufacture. They are light-weight and springy, imparting a fluffy quality to the garment. They are also highly resistant to heat, sunlight, soot, and smoke, are strong and resilient, and show good stability during laundering. Since they are thermoplastic polymers, they can be heatset. They resist mildew and are not susceptible to attack from insects. These polymers also have very low moisture absorbency and will dry quickly.Other naturally occurring fabrics are also used to make fake furs and improve the look and feel of the overall garment. These include materials such as silk, wool, and mohair. Cotton or wool, along with polypropylene, are typically used to make the backings to which the fibers are attached. Rayon, a semisynthetic fiber made from cellulose and cotton linters, is used to supplement acrylic and modacrylic fibers on the garment, as are polyester and nylon. Materials such as silicones and various resins are used to improve the smoothness and luster of fake furs. To complete the look of a fake fur, dyes and colorants are used. If a true imitation is desired, designers match the color with natural fur. However, fashion designers have found that the fake fur fabric has merits of its own and have started using colors and styles that give it its own new, unique look.
